Windsor Golf Course approached Roughneck Ranch with a comprehensive maintenance facility upgrade that would address multiple operational challenges while improving environmental sustainability and workflow efficiency. The existing maintenance complex suffered from outdated infrastructure, inefficient layout, and environmental concerns that were impacting daily operations and resource management.

The existing chemical fertilizer storage facility was inadequate for safe storage and handling of golf course maintenance chemicals

Aging fuel storage tanks posed environmental risks and operational inefficiencies

The equipment wash area lacked proper water management systems, resulting in excessive water consumption and potential environmental impact

Poor soil bin placement allowed sand infiltration into the maintenance facility, creating ongoing operational issues

Roughneck Ranch developed and executed a comprehensive facility modernization plan that addressed each of these operational challenges:

New Chemical Fertilizer Building Construction We designed and constructed a purpose-built chemical fertilizer storage facility that meets current safety regulations and provides secure, organized storage for all golf course maintenance chemicals. The new structure incorporates proper ventilation, spill containment systems, and accessibility features that ensure safe handling while streamlining inventory management.
Fuel System Modernization The project included complete removal of the outdated fuel storage tanks and installation of new, environmentally compliant fuel storage systems. We constructed a new fuel wash canopy that provides weather protection for equipment fueling operations while incorporating safety features and proper drainage systems.
Water Conservation Implementation A key environmental component of the project was the installation of an advanced wash water recycle system. This innovative system captures, filters, and recycles water used for equipment cleaning, significantly reducing the facility's water consumption while maintaining the high cleanliness standards required for golf course maintenance equipment.
Site Layout Optimization We strategically relocated the soil bins to prevent sand infiltration into the maintenance facility, a persistent problem that had been affecting equipment and creating ongoing maintenance issues. The new positioning not only eliminates contamination concerns but also creates a more efficient workflow for sand operations, reducing handling time and improving overall operational efficiency.
